To Happydaystile,
When installing transparent glass tile it is very important to not pre-back butter the glass because the thin-set can be pulled off the glass by the fresh thin-set on the wall curing under the dried thin-set on the tile. This will show itself by a slight de-bonding of the thin-set behind the glass tile within about 90 days.

It would be a lot …
It would be a lot easier to back butter each piece of tile first and simply let that dry then you can actually set some tile and get something done. spread and go.
I do agree that duroc would be a better option but there are a lot of modified thinsets that will still warranty the work right over the drywall and mud.

a 1/4″ V-notch …
a 1/4″ V-notch trowel would have been a better choice than the massive 3/16″ square-notch trowel recommended in thew video. Also, installing any thinset mortar over unprimed wallboard joint mud is never a good idea. The walls should have either been primed with a PVA or a cement board used in place of the gypsum board and thinset used to tape the seams.
Oceanside Glasstile is a fantastic supplier and I appreciated that Fuad and Paul took a little time to feature the production process.
